The Intensive and Coronary Care Unit is a nine-bed combined unit, which prides itself on continuous modernization and development, utilizing the latest techniques, treatments and equipment, to provide the highest possible standards of care.
The unit caters for a wide range of medical and surgical conditions, Acute Coronary Syndrome to Post operative care following major surgery. We also provide invasive and non-invasive respiratory therapies and renal support for the critically ill patient.
The unit also facilitates post-graduate nurse education in Critical Care Nursing. There are Critical Care Nursing students from University College Cork on rotation though the unit on a continuous basis. We promote continuous professional development among the staff to ensure delivery of high quality patient care.
