The theatre suite is located on the second floor of the hospital adjacent to the intensive care unit. It comprises;
•    Six bed reception area
•    Five Operating Theatres
•    Eight bay Post Anaesthetic Care Unit

The department offers a comprehensive range of surgical services including
•    Opthalmics
•    Orthopaedics (Elective)
•    ENT
•    Urology
•    Dental
•    Gynaecology
•    Plastic
•    General Surgery- Elective and Acute
•    Anaesthetic

The department has a Specialist staff which includes including CNM’s, Theatre Staff Nurses, Theatre Health Care Assistants. Through staff development high standards of patient care are maintained. The departments learning environment are audited by UCC for both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. The department is serviced by a new purpose built sterile supply unit. Approximately 10,000 procedures are undertaken annually.
