Urology is a surgical speciality that deals with disorders
of the kidneys and bladder in men and women. It also treats
disorders of the testes, prostate gland and vas deferens
in men.
The department provides services to inpatients, day cases
and outpatients for both emergency and elective conditions.
Treatments Provided
While the full range of services is provided by
the Urology Department our services tend to fall into five
categories.
Urological Cancers
This includes kidney, bladder and testis cancer. All appropriate
surgical treatments are available for these conditions as
well as a full oncology service for patients needing chemotherapy
afterwards.
Prostate Cancer
We have extensive experience in the successful treatment
of early prostate cancer. In later, incurable cases we provide
palliative treatments designed to prolong and improve the
quality of life for patients.
