All patients who have sedation please note:
After your procedure you will not be allowed to
drive or take a taxi, bus, train or walk home on your own
therefore you must arrange for someone to collect you. Patients
must be escorted home when discharged after day care procedure
by adult and collected from the endoscopy unit at specified
time (as below). The times listed below are used as guidelines
to facilitate patients procedures and completion of other
tests during admission to unit. They are approximate times
only.
NB:
- Patients for morning procedure (admitted
8.00 – 9.00am) – relative
to collect patient at 12 midday.
- Patients for morning/noon
procedure (admitted 10.00am – 11.00am)
relative to collect at 2.00pm
- Patients for afternoon
procedure (admitted 11.00am – 1.00pm) – relative
to collect at 4pm.
Following sedation, patient will require an adult to stay
with them following discharge from hospital, for that day
and night.
Please have a bath or shower prior to admission
Please bring night dress or pyjamas, dressing gown/slippers
but leave valuables such as jewellery and large sums of money
at home.
Please bring up-to-date VHI Membership Number or BUPA details
etc.
