Ultrasound
This non-invasive, non-ionising radiation modality is extensively used
in investigation of a wide variety of conditions including disease of the
thyroid, kidneys, liver, pancreas, gall bladder and pelvis (ovaries, uterus
and prostate). Biopsy under ultrasound control is also performed regularly
and includes assessment of lesions of the kidney and prostate.
Doppler facility enables investigations of vascular abnormalities such
as occlusive carotid artery disease and varicose veins.
CAT Scanning
CT investigations of all parts of the body are available and include:
