Wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no
open-toed or open-heeled shoes).

Patients having hip replacements need some equipment
and aids for home:
a) A toilet seat raiser.
b) An Easy reacher.
c) A long shoe horn.
d) An orthopaedic chair. |
These are available for purchase in
the Physiotherapy Department. If patients have medical
cards, they are entitled to the above equipment free.
It is necessary to contact your local health board
well in advance.

Patients after total hip replacement, total knee replacement
and anterior cruciate ligament repair, are able to manage
stairs on discharge. |
