surgical unit with 29 single rooms
Day Ward – A 28 bedded unit providing the following
services:
- Endoscopy procedures i.e. Gastroscopy, Bronchosopy
- Variety of procedures under General Anaesthetic, Local
Anaesthetic, I.V. Sedation including general surgery,
E.N.T., Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmic, Urology,
Dental, Plastic, Vascular and Bladder Instillation
Minor Operating Theatre procedures
- Pain
Control, Phlebotomy procedures, Day Case Chemotherapy
- Medical investigations e.g. Pulmonary Function, Trans-oesophageal
Echo (TOE) and Histamine Challenge
- Pre-operative assessment
- Resting area for patients

- Uroflow test
Clinical Nurse Specialists
We currently employ five Clinical Nurse Specialists. Each
area of speciality is a defined area of nursing practice
that requires application of focused knowledge and skills
which improves the quality of patient care.
