Bon Secours Hospital Cork wins Top National Safety Award

The Bon Secours Hospital Cork has once again been awarded the top Occupational Safety Award for Medical Services in Ireland after winning the Medical Services Award at the All Ireland Safety Awards 2011. This is the second year the Cork Hospital has retained the title having also won the award in 2010.

The award was presented to Kieran McNamara – Fire, Health & Safety Officer at the Bon Secours Hospital Cork by the National Irish Safety Organisation on Friday 07th October 2011 at a special Gala Dinner at the Malton Hotel in Killarney.

The Hospital's submission was assessed by an independent panel of health and safety professionals representing the National Irish Safety Organisation and the Northern Ireland Safety Group. The hospital was formally recognised for its 'superior performance' in the area of safety management practice.
Included in the submission criteria were:
Health and Safety Management.
Hazard Identification and Risk Management.
Emergency Preparedness.
Health Safety Training.
Policies and procedures in accordance with JCI standards, best practice and legislation.
