Respiratory

The Respiratory Department provides a high quality service for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, sarcoidosis, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, tuberculosis and obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), with a flexible sleep diagnostic service available to suit the patients’ needs.  This service is available to inpatients, outpatients, referrals from General practitioners and from other hospitals.

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) titration

Pulmonary function tests

Cardiopulmonary Exercise Stress Tests

Bronchoscopy including transbronchial needle aspiration

Overnight oximetry

Patient education on all respiratory and sleep conditions

Instruction on inhaler technique

Smoking cessation

Non-invasive ventilation service

Telephone advice line for patients

Education and training resource for staff
