Visiting Hours
Patients, except those in the Intensive Care Unit, may receive visitors during the following hours:General Visiting Hours
- 2.00 pm - 4.30 pm
- 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm
Children's Ward
Parents allowed at all times.(Only 2 visitors with any child, at any given time.)
Children may visit if accompanied by an adult.
Special Visiting Hours
For the Intensive Care Unit, visiting is confined to immediate family and must be arranged with the Sister in Charge. Visitors are asked to keep to the times as far as possible and avoid making unnecessary noise in the rooms and corridors. After 6.00pm you are asked to enter and leave by the main entrance door.Telephone numbers:

Call cards can be purchased in the Accounts Department ground floor between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm and at the Reception desk after these hours.
Mobile Phones
The use of mobile phones is prohibited in the Hospital, as they interfere with our monitoring equipment.
Smoking Is Not Allowed In The Hospital
Your Admission
Your admission to the Hospital is arranged by your GP or doctor. You are asked to arrive at the Hospital at the time specified by the Doctors’ Secretary / Hospital Admission staff.
BON SECOURS BOOKING OFFICE
We are based in the Cork Clinic on the Western Road in Cork City, where many of the hospital Consultants have their rooms. Our aim is to prepare our patients for their upcoming admission and to provide information on the hospital and it's services. We collate personal details on our patients and check their medical insurance, on their behalf, advising them on their cover. We also book ante-natal classes on behalf of our obstetrical patients and organise tours of the hospital for them. The office operates from Monday to Thursday 09.00am until 6.30pm and Friday 09.00 am until 5.00pm

Acute admissions
Acute admissions are arranged by your GP or consultant following a telephone call to the booking office in the hospital. We do not have an Accident and Emergency department.
Please Leave Your Valuables At Home
Since we cannot be responsible for the loss of valuables, please leave money, jewellery, or any other possessions you consider valuable, at home. If you do come to the Hospital with such valuables, please see that a member of your family returns them to a place of safety, or deposits them in the Hospital safe. A security officer is on duty 24 hours a day. The hospital’s security system is designed to protect patients and staff.
Medicines
Bring all of your medicines with you, separately wrapped and clearly labelled with full instructions.
In addition, ask your Chemist for a printout of all your medications. This is to avoid any interruption in your medication. The Hospital may need to defer your admission without this important information.

All appointments must be made via the Consultant's Secretary.

Car Parking
Park only in parking spaces provided. Please do not obstruct entrances or other vehicles. Handicapped parking spaces are provided at the main entrance to the General Hospital, 7 days, 7am – 10pm.TARIFFS

Hospital Shop
The hospital shop is situated at the main entrance to the General Hospital. There is a daily shop trolley service to all departments supplying newspapers, toiletries, and sundries. Opening times are from 8.30am to 8.30pm seven days a week.Television
Entertainment facilities include a TV in all patient rooms, with all services from the hospital Chapel and satellite channels available. A cartoon and video channel is available in the children's suite.
Taxi
A free phone taxi service is available from within the hospital. One free phone is situated next to the Accounts Department, Ground floor, opposite Reception desk.Bus Service
The number 5 bus stops in front of the hospital at 28 minute intervals. It departs, alternately, from City Centre to Rossa Avenue.Insurance Coverage
