Strike Notice for Monday 8th February, 2010 - INMO, SIPTU and MLSA

Monday 01 February 2010

Bon Secours Health System and its hospitals at Cork, Dublin, Tralee and Galway regret to advise that the INMO, SIPTU and MLSA have served strike notice for full withdrawal of labour with effect from Monday 8th February, 2010.

Bon Secours Health System is doing everything in its power to avert this action which is most regrettable for patients, our staff and the continuity of the very valuable service our hospitals provide.

Should the strike action proceed, however, Bon Secours Health System will have no option but to implement a contingency plan that will involve the cancellation of non-emergency medical and surgical admissions to all our hospitals with effect from 8th February, 2010.  Bon Secours Health System is currently in discussions with both unions to agree contingency arrangements sufficient to protect acute and essential services within the hospitals. Further up-dates will be provided when the situation becomes clearer.

Information on individual hospital arrangements is available from:

  • Bon Secours Cork  (021) 4801612 & (021) 4801990
  • Bon Secours Dublin  (087) 1505265
  • Bon Secours Tralee  (066) 7149800 – Bleep 59
  • Bon Secours Galway  (091) 757711

Bon Secours Health System deeply regrets the inconvenience that may be caused to patients and their families and sincerely hopes that the strike action can be avoided.
