Sisters of Bon Secours - Our Vision
We are women of prayer, hope and commitment to those in need. We serve with enthusiasm and passion. Every aspect of our work is characterised by a desire to heal, to liberate and to be compassionate. By our solidarity with the poor and the needy, we demonstrate our understanding of our God. Sisters of Bon Secours live the Gospel values, sometimes in places and among people bereft of belief and of hope.
Since the first twelve Sisters of Bon Secours joined together more than 185 years ago, we have devoted ourselves to caring for physical and spiritual needs, especially those who are poor , the sick and the dying.
While that remains the core of our vision and mission, we believe our charism is a living spirit that evolves, as people’s needs change. Over the years, we have broadened our scope and reached from providing care in the homes of the sick and dying, to working in the wider community.
In the past, the work of the Sisters of Bon Secours was primarily carried out by religious sisters. Now, we work to expand our Bon Secours family to include associates, co-workers, and people from other religious and community organizations who are working towards the goals and values we share.
